When you sit at a PKR table you actually get the feeling of sitting at a real casino (albeit a virtual one!).  Also, the avatars at the table can actually move and act how the player would like – for example, if you lose a big hand, you can make your player cry at the table.

At the tables you can choose from multiple modes, including fixed camera points that are at four different locations of the table, an overhead view, or my personal favorite – the “dynamic” mode. In dynamic mode the camera follows action around the table, so it has the same feel as watching poker on ESPN.

There are multiple different playing environments, including a bar, a resort, a casino, and many more. Also, you can customize your character as much as you want by changing his/her face, body, skin, clothes, and accessories. Once you start building up PKR Points (PKR’s version of a frequent player point) you can add further customization to your virtual player, including secret chip tricks and special accessories. PKR even awards a virtual bracelet to winners of big PKR.com tournaments that can be sported at the tables.

PKR’s poker games include Texas Hold’em (in No Limit, Pot Limit, and Fixed Limit Stakes), Omaha High (in Pot Limit and Fixed Limit), and Omaha Hi-Lo (in Pot Limit and Fixed Limit). Although they offer all of those games, No Limit Hold’em is clearly their centerpiece, and most players online are playing that game. PKR offers stakes up to $100/$200, but games at that limit are rarely running.

Besides the initial deposit bonus, PKR also offers new players a $1,000 freeroll as well as a poker strategy eBook so they can improve quickly. Plus, the more you play the more PKR points you’ll earn, and those points can be turned in at the PKR store for great rewards such as virtual gear for the tables, or real life PKR gear.
